What materials did you use? Neckties, Sheet for background and backing, binding thread

What are you most proud of? The fact that I got it finished! This one was a bit of a trial, but I got through it and the results are lovely.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Even though it takes more time I would open out the neck-ties to reduce bulk. I just sewed these together and the resulting quilt is quite heavy and thick.

This REALLY makes a statement! I think I will try it. I have a bag of my Poppy's neckties buried in my sewing room somewhere!

I would like the pattern. I have several ties from an entire family from Great Grandfather to most recent male member. I thought would make a wonderful memory gift for the family

Sorry, there isn't a pattern - this was one of those "fly by the seat of your pants" projects :)

I see you stitched 1/4 inch from the edge of the tie... but, did you overlap the edges of the ties to hold the edge down or how did you secure the very edge of the ties?

I didn't worry about the very edge since the ties were all lined and there were no raw edges.

Beautiful project. I have been looking for a way to use ties. I Think this is the one.
