What was your inspiration?
Two bags of neckties that were collected over many years in "winter" colors by a wonderful lady and her husband. She asked me to make a quilt out of her collection by sewing them in a circle and asked for scalloped edges on her quilt.
What are you most proud of?
The fact that I got it finished! This one was a bit of a trial, but I got through it and the results are lovely.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Even though it takes more time I would open out the neck-ties to reduce bulk. I just sewed these together and the resulting quilt is quite heavy and thick.
