Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Sewing Studio: Fashion Fitting, Home Decor & More »

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Retro / Vintage, Classic

Materials

Heavy cotton skirt fabric, poly satin lining, invisible zipper

What was your inspiration?

To make a pretty skirt to a standard I could wear to work (and I wear a high standard of clothes to work!)

What are you most proud of?

The retro feel to the skirt with the combination of print and knee-length, and this was the first item of clothing I have ever lined and that went pretty well.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take it slowly and re-do any areas you aren't happy with forst time. Also don't underestimate the time it takes to slip-stitch everything neatly.

Love the color of your skirt. I am waiting for an invisible zipper foot to come in the mail. I hope to make 3 skirts. My muslin is done except for the zipper.
