Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. I took this photo while fishing a bass tournament, heard a train coming and got my phone camera out just in time to click.. Found a good shaped gallery wrapped canvas and broke out the acrylics...I sketched in outline using Adobe Photoshop then printed out the picture and used saral transfer paper to trace the basic proportions out. Used my computer monitor to reference the photograph and washed in values with some burnt umber..I then began to paint using some dry brushing and glazing techniques...I just love this place, have fished here many times and been under that bridge also..Was a very random thought to take a pic and know I might try to paint it. My first attempt at landscape...Thanks for looking.

What are you most proud of? taking and catching the train as it crossed the tunnel while fishing a bass tournament! Also that I think this is a fairly successful and very enjoyable painting, A place I'm so familiar with.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just enjoy yourself and love what you are doing. For me its about having fun in the process, savoring it...watch Bob Ross!, LOL! no, really....

This did turn out to be a nice painting! I am always drawn to vibrant colors - now you can remember your favorite fishing hole every time you look at this painting!
