This was my original prototype, and the cable on the back is a bit different than the ones knitted from the pattern. Also, I made the rib shorter at beginning and end on this one.Difficulty:

What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Just read and follow the instructions carefully. You will use one chart for the front of the scarf, and another for the back. The pattern is not difficult to follow, once you understand the charts! Written instructions are provided, as well.
