Instructions
natsu (hiragana なつ) : “Summer” in Japanese.
This wrap has been a hit & miss just like our Brisbane Summer. Most of our summer has been rainy & cool, good weather for knitting this. I had been doing so well & actually finished around the 10th Jan, when I realised after soaking, & in the middle of blocking that my Natsu was concave, not rectangle. I had forgotten to increase a couple of rows…argghhhh!! Well, after a a hissy fit & a mini tantrum, I walked away from it for a week, & used my energy elsewhere in sewing a skirt & dress.
After a week I assessed it & realised I really like the fabric I was getting, & decided to frog & start it again.
I restarted this on the 21st Jan, & have been slowly working on it amongst birthday parties.
25-30 Jan…really sitting down for a couple of hours at a time to try & finish by the KAL deadine of 31 Jan. Making sure I haven’t made any mistakes & the shape is coming out well. Have been able to finish at 11.30pm, & blocked it & it’s so gratifying & a relief to see that it is the correct shape after the hard work.
31 Jan…finally a beautiful sunny day after weeks of rain…the wrap was able to dry really quickly & this afternoon I did the fringing in a couple of hours.
After knitting this twice, I highly recommend it..love the fabric & the pattern was really easy (especially if you paid attention to the right row of course!!)
