What advice would you give someone starting this project? every step counts. there is no way to rush it, or fudge it.

Wow! I love the color combination of this jacket and your choice of stencil design. It looks fantastic on you! Beautiful work!

I just signed up, have been picking away at ACing from her book but does not give enough instruction for me, looking forward to starting this class. Did you make and design your own stenciled for this jacket? Your pieces are all beautiful! What alterations did you do to the jacket?

hi maggie, thank you! the class is terrific. i made the stencil, inspired by an earring i had from years ago. i used mylar, but think i would try again with freezer paper, which i have used since. the major alterations were - no darts. i just continued the line of the hem on the pattern, and eliminated the pockets. i also eliminated the neck facing piece. will you make the jacket?

Hi Calli, I love your stenciles. I have 2 from the AC web site and have cut smaller ones from them to practice, and used paper as well and it works fine. Not sure Bout the jacket, it's not really my style, I read some of your other posts about there not being many jackets and I think it is very stylized and not for everyone. I also signed up for the quilted jacket class and really dislike that pattern but you really can apply the techniques to most anything.

So true about applying the techniques elsewhere - learned alot from the class, though still not sure I will do the hand-sewing though all the pieces done do look amazing.

Calli, what happened to the hold and black coat you made?

Really nice job - love the alterations you made - flower pattern is great - it reminds me of a pantsuit I had in the 60's was purple and green if you can imagine. Really great piece - it's cool how the paint around the edge of the cutout adds another dimension - love it!
