What was your inspiration?

This was for a friend who was turning 50...so I wanted her to have a special cake.

What are you most proud of?

I like the way my painted book cover turned out but I'm also proud of my first ever wired gum paste tulip

Can you only use gel pain to paint with? I am having problem with my paint drying. Do you have a suggestion on what I can use or what ever.. I'm from Canada if that helps. Thanks.....Terry

Hi Terry! Are you having trouble with your colors drying out on your palette or your painted cake project not drying. What are you using to thin your gel colors? If you use water it will take longer to dry and I have found it kinda makes my fondant gummy. I use vodka (cheap vodka, lol!) but you can also use clear vanilla extract ( anything with alcohol). The alcohol evaporates faster so your painting dries faster. If your palette colors dry out, try storing them in a zip loc bag. You can always refresh dry gel color by adding some vodka to them. Remember humidity also will affect how long it takes for your paint to dry. Hope this helps...Nancy
