What was your inspiration?

My mother-in-law started quilting in her late 70's and had made quilts for most of the family. I decided it was time she had one of her own but following a stroke she is no longer able to sew. I made this for her 87th birthday. It is my second finished quilt.

What are you most proud of?

The colours are not my favourite but I chose them because I thought they were very much Nana's. Nana was extremely chuffed that I had taken the time to make it for her and would do it again for her just for the smiles alone.

:) tomib - "chuffed" is an Aussie term - pleasantly satisfied would best describe it's meaning. Great that you found the pattern - I enjoyed making it and hope you do too.

Chuffed must be an Aussie term. What does it mean? Based on its use it must be good! Beautiful quilt!!!

I'm not a fan of big prints but I think this is just lovely! You did a great job with you fabric choices. The overall quilt is just phenomenal. Nana is very loved and I hope she is doing well after her stroke.

This pattern is from a 2007 magazine published in Australia. It's not free, but if you want it badly enough to pay for it, there's one listed on Ebay right now. Go to www.ebay.com.au and search "amazing rotary cut". It'll cost you about $12 or $13US.

One of the first quilts I uploaded, didn't realize there was an area to list as to buy or free. Unfortunately the pattern was from a magazine I purchased and I am not able to copy due to copyright laws.
