What was your inspiration?
I was invited to a quilt retreat which used this pattern for the main project. With Christmas fast approaching I decided to make a quilt for my mom using her favorite winter color, blue. The ballerinas fabric was added because she has made it a tradition to take every grandchild to see the Nutcracker during the Holiday season.
What are you most proud of?
I'm proud of the way this quilt turned out. I started with the Fairy Frost fabric and didn't have enough of a selection to meet the fabric requirements for the pattern, so I started looking around the quilt shop and Nana's Christmas grew from there. My mom loves it and will hang it in a place of honor every Christmas season.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
The piecing of this quilt goes very fast but with the embroidery (optional) and quilting involved, I recommend you LOVE the fabric you're working with... You'll be seeing it for quite a long time ;-)
