What was your inspiration?

This 'next' quilt was for my husband, Dave. I enjoyed my first mystery quilt so much that I thought I'd try another. The general theme of the quilt was 'scrappy.' Dave picked the colours and I went to class.

What are you most proud of?

I managed not to change my refraction after all this black-on-black work! Most of my star points lined up ok. Sandwiching the layers was quite an escapade with 2 curious cats and a bulldog On the quilt spread out on the living room floor. Dave actually helped pin it together.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This was Very hard on the eyes. I actually had to put it down for several months. I did most of it during the day with natural light as it was hard to see under artificial light. I ended up assembling it differently than the class instructions, but I'm very glad I did. I don't think I will do black on black again!
