Instructions

I made these as my friend’s baby shower gift.
I couldn't find a pattern in English for this from any where at that time, so made up my own pattern based on the progress pictures and notes of other people.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Children

Style: Cute, Whimsical, Funky

Materials

Fibranatura Baby Merino Yarn

What was your inspiration?

Photos of vintage knitted baby shoes

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

It's so much easier than it looks. :D

Oh, these are so cute! I'm looking at the photo, and talking to myself (..hmmm, rows of knits and purls, it's folded.) .I imagine it took a while to figure out the pattern. How sweet of you to make a pattern available! Handmade booties look adorable on tiny tootsies. Thank you for sharing.

These are super cute - thanks for sharing, it has been a while since I've been knitting so my skills are a little rusty, but now that I'm expecting a baby I want her to have some things hand-made with mama love.

I have been looking for something like this in a knitting pattern. A patient where I worked would crocheted a pair for each person in the office. This is the first that I have seen closest to what she did, but in knitting. They are darling. Could the pattern be enlarged for adult feet???

You could..but there's a knot on the sole part, and it might feel uncomfortable to walk in them. These shoes keep the feet of infant babies (who don't walk yet) warm, but I don't think it would be comfortable for anybody who can walk. It can be modified not to have any knot on the sole by knitting the sole part separate from the top, it should be a great design for adult, too. I'll try to make a pattern for that before this winter. :)
