Sandi, I saw your comment on the kind of tape used before cutting. I live near Cape Town, and my options are limited. I often order stuff from the US, but it takes up to six weeks to get here. By that time I've forgotten what I ordered, or why, and it's like opening a birthday present! Do you think I could use stay stitching instead of tape?

Give it a try and let me know how it works. It might take more time to apply and be careful of the stretching, be sure to starch before you do it.

The harp of my machine is very small - I used painter's tape on the medallion quilt and it worked just fine.
