What was your inspiration?

I wanted to create a window type quilt for Halloween and use up my fat quarters and scrap fabric without it costing to much.

What are you most proud of?

How the residents where I work loved to stop and look at the quilt and how they are surprised at what they had not seen before. So much to look at but not to overwhelming.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is a very basic pattern and you can use it for practicing on a small piece before using it to make a bigger quilt. Pick fat quarters that will blend well with the plain fabric and go from lighter to darker. Pattern is done with a 6"x6" square but can be increased to a larger size quite easily. I purchased the buttons when on sale after halloween to save money. Same with the ribbon. Plain buttons was purchased with multiple colours in the package which also saved money. Nice then about it, you can make it your own style.

This is so cute! I like the concept of the curtained panel. And I just noticed that you are in Barrie, ON. Although I now live in Salt Lake City, Utah, I lived at CFB Borden for about five years. Srmall world, isn't it?
