My Picnic Blanket Skirt

Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:

Instructions

I ran into a bit of problem with the Seersucker material, it was of kind of stretchy and kept getting stuck in machine. So I used some fusible woven interface from my bag project to help stabilize the fabric.

I pinned a small rectangle piece of interface on the wrong side, with the fusible side facing the fabric, then created the buttonhole, and trimmed away the excess interface.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Outdoorsy, Casual, Classic

Materials

Seersucker and Fusible Woven Interface

What was your inspiration?

My inspriation was the lovely skirt Tilly wore on her website, how could I resist it looked so fun

What are you most proud of?

I made my first buttonholes using the buttonhole feature on my Singer 8220C, and I inserted my first pair of pockets.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Enjoy the process, and enjoy wearing your own lovely picnic blanket skirt.

Thank you I have not worn it yet, once the weather gets pretty warm I will be stepping in out in my skirt, I need to find or make a prety blouse to go with it.
