My Sewing Studio
Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Casual

What was your inspiration?

Tired of sewing in my dining room and wanted a permanent place where I could set up shop and sew whenever the passion moved me.

What are you most proud of?

My cutting table. Made of a 1" thick melamine board it is 4 feet by 7 feet and stands 36" tall - no more aching back when I want to cut fabric. With 2 counter height stools it is a great place to work.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Bring everything you need to this place for maximum efficiency. Good task lighting is imperative.

Wow, I love your space. Working on converting an office to a sewing room in my house. I found an old wood IKEA desk with wood legs and added casters to raise the height and to be able to move about as needed. Thank goodness for laptops - now the office can be anywhere and I'll get a sewing/project room.

What a nice tidy spot you have sewing!! I love the pictures on your wall. At work I have a row as long as my room of pictures. I work in the hospital lab in Regina. And love pictures to liven up the place. I wash the dishes, and other stuff. As for my sewing room. I use a spare bedroom but it is way to small. I cut material in my kitchen where the counter is the right height for me. No aching back for me.
