What would say your sewing skill level is? I'm asking because I am afraid this class might be too much for me :))

Definitely not expert! Maybe intermediate. I don't sew that much really. I will say though that I had a slipcover on this chair and I took it off and cut it apart so I had pattern pieces. I would not feel so comfortable just free cutting!! Also after I did this one I did two more where I bought pattern paper and traced the chair to make pattern pieces (those chairs didn't have slipcovers). I followed along with the class and they came out great too. It's a very good class! I was surprised at myself!!

I am so impressed by the very professional job you did centering the motifs. Lovely.

Hi Leslie, thank you for your reply, it helps a lot. I bought the class but I think I will Google how to trace pattern pieces for furniture before starting! Or does anyone here know of a good free online tutorial or instructions for tracing patterns for furniture?

She talks about how to trace the chair. That's how I got the idea. I just bought pattern tracing paper at Joann's (never knew there was such a thing) and lay the chair on it and traced each side! I added a cutting line around it (1/2 inch or whatever she said). Then with the arms I lay the paper on top and tucked it in and traced where I thought the seam would be. Give it a whirl!!! You will surprise yourself like I did I bet!!!
