I really wanted to try out a shirred dress. Next year I'll make some of these for my girls!

I actually WEAR this, which is kind of rare for dresses I've sewn!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Experiment with your machine until you find a shirring method that works. Mine does NOT work the way most tutorials suggest, so I had to play around with it for a while before I was happy with the results.
