This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stitch & Slash »

Instructions

If you have a focus fabric (that you want to stand out more than others) Put in on the BOTTOM of the stack, not in the middle - I think I should have put the orange at the bottom on my piece

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

For: Home

Style: Funky, Mod

Materials

100% cotton fat quarters

What was your inspiration?

The Craftsy Stitch & Slash online class - I just HAD to try it!

What are you most proud of?

"Learn by doing" I learned a number of things that I need to do different next time. Yes, there will be a next time, I've already selected my "focus fabric"

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Choose a focus fabric- one that calls out to you - for me that would be a multi-colored, bright print. Then choose your other fabrics by refering to the focus fabric. This helps the colors coordinate.
Another thought - as you put your stack together you might want to alternate lights and darks.

Personally, I LOVE the placement of the orange. The lines give it so much energy. If it was on the bottom, the color would have appeared as blotches instead of lines. But your layering the red against the green (complimentary colors) really makes this piece sing!
