What was your inspiration?

My sister is the one who inspired me to take on this knitted jacket project. When I first saw it in the 2008 issue of Twist Collective all those years ago, I didn't think much of it; until, of course, my sister pointed it out. So I tucked that jacket into the back of my mind for the next few years. When I realized that I needed a lightweight jacket for the upcoming spring, I immediately remembered the Sweet Pea Coat and decided it was high time to knit one up.

What are you most proud of?

I'm most proud of the determination I showed when it came time to knit those pockets! I was scratching my head throughout the pocket construction but I managed to pull through.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I don't know about you but when I am contemplating about knitting a sweater one thought always seems to surface: it is going to take a LONG time. If you shy away from sweater knitting because of this I would suggest this pattern. Because bulky yarn and large needles are used you can knit this up without much time and effort. It is a great motivation booster! It is a simple pattern to follow, too, and if you do run into some questions when knitting the pockets, watch the how-to video I put together on the subject. A lot of Sweet Pea knitters had the same trouble as me so that's why I decided a video was in order. Here's the link to youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxawcwes5lo
