What is exciting or interesting to you about your photo(s)? The picture captures the essence of my friend's cheerful personality. I am pleased that I was able to keep the subject sharp whilst putting the background slightly out of focus so that it doesn't interfere with the portrait. By setting my subject off-centre I hope I have added to the interest of the picture. There is a child's football on the lawn in the background and I must obtain some software in order to edit the picture and get rid of the ball.

Can you tell us about any special equipment or techniques that you used? Nikon D3200 DSLR camera, aperture priority; ISO 100; WB full sun; speed 1/400; aperture F5; focal length 38mm; lens 18-55.

Nice potrait shot and would be better if the ball could be removed and also some of the flowers around the outline of the figure and trees away from the hair line. I am not very good at portraits so admire your work on this one.

Thank you for your helpful and constructive comments. I've been using Picasa so far, but think I need something a bit more powerful for editing now, so am considering a Photoshop option.

Thank you. It is very typical of my friend, who has a lovely warm personality which seems to come over in that photo.
