My first WIP quilt

I upcycled some fabric: I used my boyfriend's old shirts, I bought some long skirts from second hand shops and cut them up, I this they are all cotton fabrics.

What was your inspiration?

I bought some old books with quilt patterns and used that for instructions but the real inspiration came from the fabrics.

What are you most proud of?

It took me long hours to cut the fabrics out and utilise the second hand pieces but it turned out great and all I need to do now is finish it off with the actual quilting process and give it a nice edge.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be put off by the effort that needs to go into cutting the pieces out as this will make the finished item look nicer and will be easier to sew together. Give yourself time and space to do this as a quilt cannot be rushed.
