This is an amazing first try! Quilting takes an incredible amount of skill and you will get better with every project. The important part is to have fun and enjoy it!

Simplicity at it's best. I like the colors.

I agree with the other comments. This is an awesome quilt, and your first try is still better than my first, second, and third tries, combined! LOL I think the first quilt you make is more of a test to see if you like the process of making a quilt, and if you do, then you go on. Personally, I challenge myself to learn something new and generally improve with every quilt I make. Perfect? Not by a long shot. Fun? Yes. I hope you enjoyed your first journey, and continue on this quilting path because again, your quilt looks great!

Wow! I just signed up for this class and I hope my first quilt looks even Half as good as yours! You're a natural! I love your simple, solid, richly colored blocks. I've always stayed away from quilting before because I didn't like "busy" patterns in the material. Yours is Perfect for my tastes! :-)
