I am taking the The Seamless Artemisia Sweater by Craftsy. Mercedes Tarasovich-Clark is a very detailed in her approach of teaching the skills to do a set-in sleeve sweater top down. Her step by step approach made this a knit that I not only learned but had an wonderful journey along the way. Without her, I would not accomplish this sweater. I have learned so much. I really love the Craftsy classes!
I am using Comfort Worsted that has sat here for years. I do not plan to do the lace in the front. I found the chart was difficult to follow. I am taking some Crafty Shawl Classes so in the future I would consider lace.
I originally did this whole top in a yarn called Dark Horse Coral. I frogged the whole thing because it show too much stitch definition, and I did not like that. The fit was perfect. I did a size 34.
Frogged and started again. This time I do not have the Camel brown yarn. I wanted the sleeves to be perfect and lost track of the count. Tried to go back and got too confusing; plus I was changing colors every other row and it was a bit on the sloppy side. So I officially frogged 2 times. One because I used a different yarn and it fit perfect but did not look neat.
2/6/13 I am almost done with the armhole shaping and the sweater is looking sooo good. Glad I frogged it. It was also great to go back to Mercedes Tarasovich-Clark again and so much easier to do.
2/7/13 Third time and now it is a top I love. Got gauge, fits nice. Learned 2 new increases that look tailored. What else can I say, but thank you Mercedes Tarasovich-Clark for your detailed instructions and video.
2/10/13 Did decreasing for the waist. Got 1/2” to go then I start the increasing. Tried on again, and fits like a charm and sweater is following my figure nicely.
2/18: Sweater down. Did the sleeve trim 3 times with getting a trim I liked. I think this is the first sweater that really makes my figure look good. I love the darts that are put in. I wanted it short sleeve.

Instructions Work piece to desired length adjusting stitch count if necessary to obtain a multiple of 10 stitches. Place marker at beginning of round. Work edging as follows: Round 1: k1, yo, k2tog, yo, k2tog, inc3, ssk, yo, ssk, yo repeat between ** to end of round. Rounds 2: k all Round 3: k1, k2tog, yo, k2tog, k1, inc3, k1, ssk, yo, ssk repeat between ** to end of round Round 4: k to last stitch, slip stitch to right needle and remove beginning of round marker, return stitch to left needle and replace the beginning of round marker. What was your inspiration?
I wanted to accomplish a set-in-sleeve that looked tailored, did not require any sewing and I could do top down.
What are you most proud of?
That I actually did a set-in sleeve sweater. The shaping of the sweater and how well it fits me.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Follow everything Mercedes Tarasovich-Clark teaches, but if you want to make the sweater with short sleeves, different trim, no pockets go for it. Take out of this class what you specifically want to learn. Enjoy the process along the way Do not be afraid to frog it helps you learn better.
