Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: I was wrong to use fondant with tylose in it. I was trying to find shortcuts as I had only three days to make this practice shoe before making my Steve Madden stiletto for this weekend. The strap collapsed and in the process broke and then fell off. So sad but the recipient, my sister in law who is turning 41 today, will likely still be happy as she isn't expecting a cake. The brand is Fornanina and it was easy to convert to read Fortyone so I did it. I didn't use the proper method for the logo (wax paper transfer would have been better) and so my logo on the box is way off. Also, not my best cake - I tried to make a mousse filled sponge cake. I usually use far more structured cake recipes and fillings - lesson learned. Oh how awful looking this is. Ah well. Practice makes perfect.

What are you most proud of? My paint job. My husband brought home some ethanol (food grade) which is 99% alcohol so I use that instead of lemon extract. It's the best I've found so far.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Never take shortcuts.
