i DID IT! I am so proud of myself. The only other thing I ever made off a pattern was PJ bottoms in beginning sewing class. There is no question that this piece has its issues, but all in all, it actually looks like a shirt! Buttons, cuffs, buttonholes, the works! just please dont look too closely. Pam, I have to give all credit to you and your teaching manner. Thank you for explaining the process well and motivating a beginner like me to keep going. I am also the one who wrote in at the beginning because my front pieces and the back yoke were not lining up correctly at the shoulders after cutting The result is, and it doesnt show here, that the back yoke is actually gathered a bit, but it looks fine, like it was supposed to be there. I think the thing that screwed me up the most, in retrospect, was adding the extra seam allowance to the pattern. Next time, I am going to go with a pattern that is properly adjusted already. Learning all the time, thank you, thank you, thank you.
