Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Infant/Baby

Style: Casual

Materials

100% cotton Flannelette 80% cotton 20% ploy batting 100% cotton binding

What was your inspiration?

A young man in housekeeping at the hospital (where I work) was so excited about his third child. It was his first daughter. I was so impressed about his happiness, that I made him a quilt for Anna (his baby daughter). That was in 2010. The binding turned out right the first time I tried to make it. Purple and pink are my favorite colors. For this project I used material I had on hand.

What are you most proud of?

How pleased Richard was when I gave him the quilt. We always say hi we see each other. I work in a different area than he does.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Whole cloth quilts are fast and easy. I made this on a week-end. Give it a try. Flannel is nice and warm and I did use quilting batting as well.
