What materials did you use? cotton borrowed fabric for the 12 inch pine cone. Got brave and purchased material and borrowed all cotton fabric.

What are you most proud of? My mom said I took on the Sistine chapel when she saw what I had done, I did not even sew prior to this class. I just did not want to look like a child compared to my sisters whom I knew were very skilled sewers.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Know that velum will burn and scortch the fabric - Don't use orange thread under white fabric just because you like orange, it shows through. Getting the paper off is very difficult, I felt printer paper, velum and Carol Doaks special paper was all same in difficulty to get off. Answer, I don't know.

I did the 12 inch pine cone first after watching the class, then went on to make a 9 foot long, 12 inch high panal for a "sisters" quilt for our mother for mothers day. It was foundation pieced with bear paw pattern at both ends, then had things that represented things she liked. I learned what I needed to know from this class. Thanks.

Awesome. You did a great job. These are very advanced patterns. They really go well together.

Well, the thing about being a beginner is I had no idea they were advanced. I think that worked out to my advantage. I'm thankful for what I learned with this class which made it possible. :)
