I have watched Kate's class online and just finished. Been purchasing all the pieces and parts. Finally got my arts and crafts room all cleaned and organized, ready to try out these new skills! You did great and this was just the first time attempt. Have to start somewhere and i am proud of your success! Well done! I am stoked about the flower/tube project.

You are starting exactly like I did. You are going to get hooked! I just bought a Loritone tumbler, a mandrel and vise and a bunch of sheet metal. I wish all of us could get together to help teach each other. My community doesn't have any jewelry metal working classes.

I have been so crazy busy with life that i have hardly had a chance to get in my craft room since then. The good news is Beadfest Dallas is next weekend and i am enrolled in several classses. I am really excited. There is a place i know of for classes in metalsmithing, but when i got to meet the person that teaches the classes she was rude and i got a "i am better than you feeling". i ONLY go back to the store because the owner is nice and they have a few things i like. I wish i knew more people (friends) that enjoyed all this too.

Bead fest sounds like lots of fun. I just found out that one of my idols, Nancy L.T.. Hamilton (an incredible jewelry artist) has a studio in Petaluma, California. I will be in San Francisco soon, so I may see if I can check it out. You should watch her videos on youtube. She is a fantastic teacher (I still love you, Kate Richbourg!) It's too bad your metalsmith class didn't work out. Just keep watching videos and practicing. Now, if I could only stay focused with one technique!

Very good ! I know what you mean by rule teachers. We go to them to learn , not put up with their egos. We all start somewhere and take our own steps from there. Keep up the good work Kimberly!
