My first art quilt

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stupendous Stitching: Adventures in Surface Design »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Whimsical

Materials

rattail cord, batik, fiber cords, embroidery floss, silk threads, embroidery threads, buttons, crystals

What was your inspiration?

I was inspired by the quilts the teacher displayed

What are you most proud of?

That I actually tried this - kind of out of my box.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you're not good at straight lines which I apparently am not - use a ruler and draw with an erasable marker. My straight lines are a little wonky.

Beautiful! I like the wonky part of this process. Perfection does not appeal to me and I think it give the piece a human touch. IMHO, something we need more of in this technology-driven world!
