What materials did you use? Craft Cottons plus ..................... For the original sky; I used Steel Blue Spraytime for the front cut out piece , the reverse of a dark turquoise Spraytime for the background and then coloured the top of the sky with an Inktense blue crayon to get it a little darker than the whole (I really am not an artist....painting and all). For the water; I used a fab ( but fairly floppy ) cotton by John Louden called Waves and then fused some fine turquoise net set with silver glitter over it....muting the circular wave design underneath and adding a sparkle, similar (I hope) to the effect you get of sun reflecting off water (think Grecian holidays, Ladies) The background for one of the mountains was the reverse of a scrap of old jeans.......Basically, if something gave me the effect I wanted I used it. After the accident...the sun set the hanging alight whilst I was threading a needle to bind it!!! I used the reverse of two different colours of Spraytime to achieve the darker at the top effect. I was much happier with the larger eagle (8th time round) too!!!

What are you most proud of? I think it looks good. My hubby wants to frame it...and that is what I'm most proud of :) News Flash* News Flash * This piece, 'The Phoenix' has just received 1st Prize in our local show under the section 'A Picture - Any media'....Thank you Gloria!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? When cutting small pieces of applique, fused with double sided web, cut a 'tab'which you use to start the peeling off process.....then any fraying (and believe me there will be fraying) can be snipped off leaving a clean outline.

Love the eagles! They look like they are soaring.

Create stunning landscapes...I'll say this is beautiful. Another class I have on my list but haven't done anything with yet. This is breath taking!

I love the feeling of this quilt! There is a real feeling of place - restful but with activity!
