My First Affinity Bracelet

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Bead & Tapestry Cuffs »

Instructions

The peyote tube was giving me fits as I have MS and the coordination required was a challenge. So I just gave up and tied the tails in a knot. Not as pretty, but done. :)

Difficulty:

Category: Weaving

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Funky, Whimsical, Casual

Materials

Crochet thread for warp. Embroidery thread for weft. Seed beads.

What was your inspiration?

My granddaughter's new favorite color is purple... so mine is, too! I'm inspired by this great course and how easy Claudia makes it seem. Using her methods, many things ARE a lot easier than what I probably would have tried on my own.

What are you most proud of?

I was able to make a home made loom with a picture frame and nails and end up actually completing the bracelet in just a couple hours. Except for that peyote tube... I'll conquer that next.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have patience, have fun, be creative and if you are just starting out and not sure you want to invest in a loom, make one with a picture frame and nails. I spent less than $10 for my setup and it worked satisfactorily.

No, I don't. I made a simple loom like the one she showed in the video. I made it from a 16x20 frame and a bunch of nails. Thanks for the compliment! <3

I like the beads you used, and the location you took the picture! very creative, good luck on tackling the peyote clasp on your next try!
