Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: cake , buttercream icing, NO FONDANT. (I hate the way it tastes.)

What are you most proud of? My new son-in-law is lactose intolerant , and couldn't use any dairy in this cake. It tasted fabulous.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take some lessons in Craftsy. I really enjoyed that I could make a cake, and go back and review a section if I needed to.

What did you use to make the roses? I found the Swiss buttercream to be too soft!

I used : 1 Lb. TBK Icing Shortening - 2 cups 2 Lbs. Powdered Sugar - sifted 3 TB. Meringue Powder 1/2 Cup Water (Variable) 1 Tsp. Clear Butter Flavor 1 Tsp. Clear Vanilla I like using the high ratio shortening especially in hot weather.
