Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: Fondant to cover the cake & Gumpaste for the flowers, frame & seashell. Edible picture. I used silicone mold for some seashell but others were done freely. I used praline and a bit of graham cracker for the sand.

What are you most proud of? I was happy to have a very presentable project even if I changed part of the design. My daughter and her groom are both studying in marine biology and were impressed with the realistic seashell decorations.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Follow the video instructions and practice your cake. Air conditionning is a must and control the humidity.

did the blue fade?

Not at all. I used Satin Ice brand Blue Fondant and mixed it with white. The only problem I came with was the frills fell down but it looked so much like waves. I also have to say that the cake was set up at 12:30 and we ate it around 20:30 at night, without air conditionning in a coastal environement (PEI, Canada)
