What was your inspiration?
After I learned the crocodile stitch, I wanted to combine shiny yarn with pretty beads to make a cute evening bag. It was super quick and easy to execute once I got the hand of the stitch pattern.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the lining. I had been avoiding my sewing machine for years until I started on this project, so I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
If you are new to the crocodile stitch pattern, take time to swatch first. This stitch takes advantage of crochet's ability to work in all kinds of directions. It's not linear, so take some time to get used to it before you start on the bag. Trust me, a little practice first and you'll be thrilled with the end result.
