Lovely treatment to the lining hem. Cotton, in my opinion, is the most perfect fabric to sew with and to wear. It's so breathable and moveable.

I wanted to use cotton to keep the lining cool. The skirt for the lining ended up being a bit long after I stitched it into the dress. So a took a couple of tiny tucks at the bottom of the lining skirt and added lace to the hem. It makes me feel pretty on the outside AND the inside :-)

Congrats! I love your dress and the material. I am going to sign up for this class but am a little worried about the difficulty. Had you done much sewing prior to this class?

Paula Ann - Don't worry about the difficulty. Susan takes you through every step with in depth instruction. I've sewed since I was little, and had the good forture of having an aunt that was a seamstress and taught me much. In the past 20 years, I pretty much only sewed costumes for my kids, so nothing like the techniques that are used in the Couture Dress. The great thing about the class is that you can watch and re-watch each lesson as many times as you want (believe me, I have!) to ensure sucess. And even then, remember what my aunt always said, "As you sew, So shall you rip". In other words, don't be affraid to make a mistake. You're also learning how to fix them at the same time.
