What was your inspiration?
Goodbye Valentino's orange print version of the same Vogue pattern.
What are you most proud of?
That I didn't give up even though there were many moments of frustration. LOL
I'm also proud of the fact that my hand stitching (which I usually loathe) actually came out looking quite good and I have learnt that it can be strong and very accurate if you learn the correct techniques!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Patience and time is definitely required for this project. I don't think you need to be an advanced sewist at all because Susan's tuition guides you all the way.
One thing extra that I would recommend is maybe NOT use a large print that requires precise pattern matching as I think that's where a lot of my frustration lay (and yes, I did use the double pins that Susan mentioned too!).
Enjoy the class. The pride you feel once the dress is complete is amazing. I can't wait to wear it in public!
