This quilt is my own design. I have purchased a lot of fabric trying to find a combination I like. I am still not happy but can't figure out why. I am hoping this class will help. I was planning on putting it in my guild quilt show this summer. I need to finalize my fabric selection soon so I can cut and sew and get it done.

Hi Cacart, Your quilt is really vibrant, which is fun. However, I am wondering if you are not happy because it looks like you may have two different quilts going on. The central area (chartreuse to fuchsia) has a different personality than your outer area. The turquoise blue looks good with both sections. The green may feel lonely in either section. It doesn't feel as if it belongs to the central area, but I think it could belong to the outer section, if there was more continuity. Which do you like best? The inner section or the outer section? Once you decide that, it will be easier. It feels as if you are working in a primary triadic color scheme, which is really hard to do because it can get so easily out of control. Perhaps you might consider working in an analogous or split-complementary plan, which you have the beginnings of in your outer area. Let me know what you think about my comments---or if you have any questions. Joen
