What materials did you use? A combination of two closely-toned solid colors of Jaggerspun Zephyr wool/silk for subtle yet interesting color play that cannot be achieved by a single solid color alone. The yarn colors are Plum and Mulberry. The beads are Miyuki #2440 Transparent Gray Iris beads.
What are you most proud of? Another double feature is the beading at each end of the scarf in different, yet coordinated designs to double your pleasure in the knitting and stylish wearing. The area between the pointed ends of the scarf transitions into a simpler bias lace with beads along the edges only, thus minimizing bulk and allowing the scarf to nicely pleat when wrapped about the neck. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Allow 400 yards of lace weight yarn for 5" x 56" scarf. 6 stitches/inch over beaded lace pattern stitch with yarn doubled, size US 7 / 4.5 mm needles suggested. 25 g size 8/0 seed beads. Charted and written stitch instructions areincluded in pattern.
