What was your inspiration?

i hadnt made a bed quilt for our bed since our 15th weddng anniversary, i thought 20 years was long enough since i'd made 100's of quilts for others!! all my husband, Frank insisted on was as much hand quilting as i could put into it-so i pulled out some of the most intricate designs i had for a quilt this piecey, Both of us were happy with the result- and a big thanks to my close friends for adding the blues from their own collections, sewing their good wishes in to the piece-

What are you most proud of?

the quilting, i normally dont get a chance to be super elaborate when i am quilting, since time is a big factor, i put aside twice the normal time to quilt this one!! i've had this penn/dutch quilt template put away for years and finally got to use it!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

the piecing itself was pretty basic, when designing whitework, try and see the whole piece and how it flows, these designs are broken down from a much larger template design

Thank you, hand quilting is second nature to me, i quilted everyday for the better part of the last 30 years, its just since i've been a grandma of 4 grand daughters that it's hard to find enough time! now the frame goes up 3-4 times a year!

What a Wonderful quilt. Thank you so very much & for sharing all that went into it to get the end results. It is the perfect accent to show how beautifully you hand quilt. "Beautiful".

thank you! beside all the quilts i've made, i've quilted tops for too many to count, this i what i love the most and my husband, Frank has seen the most of- he always asks to see the back of a quilt , just to check out the whitework, so i promised this one would have a lot!!

I love all the hard work and quilting you put into this special quilt. I also love reading all the details about how hard you worked to accomplish such a beauty.

with all the quilts that have come and gone, i thought the least i could do is go a little wild with the quilting on ours, i was nice to get a chance to use some of the more unique designs!

the main design is a very large penn/dutch that i've had for a long time, but never quite had the right quilt to use it, i broke it apart and used each motif in a different section, the border i cxhanged up the center section and i had to put hearts here & there in an anniversary quilt!! thanks, we just celebrated 40 years at the end of January
