Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: Homemade hazelnut/vanilla cake, modern buttercream icing (mocha flavored) to cover the cake, classic buttercream (Wilton recipe) for piping flowers and lines, gum paste and edible paint for the hearts, and candy blue pearls.

What are you most proud of? The smoothness of the icing.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Make sure you have the right icing consistency before piping on your cake!

I really like the colors on this cake. It is beautiful.

Thank you! This cake was not only pretty, but tasty too. Actually, I did not want to make the filigree borders so dark. I was trying to make a forest type of green, but I added too much black. I believe that sometimes mistakes can make the final product better in a way.

Excellent, I love colors! I have had trouble using dark color, what I mean is... Did anyone's mouth turn blue? Once I made a circus tent cake, later the children had red, yellow and blue lips.

Thank you! I do not remember if the blue left any trace... But I do remember that this unfortunate situation happened after eating the Batman cake I did for my nephew. It was a good thing though that we had vanilla ice cream to eat along with it.
