Muslin, Princess Seam Pants

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Pant Fitting Techniques »

Instructions

This is my first muslin. I need to make a few more adjustments and then I am hoping that my real fabric will hang a little better and is heavier so it will cover better as well. I plan to drop the widest point of the legs, but take in the side seams, and then make the back inside leg a little longer.
Pretty fun so far.

10ashus - Thanks! It is a good overall fit I just figured since I was going to all this trouble I would make some tweeks to get it closer to perfect ;) I have some saddle bagness to my outer thigh so it is the widest point on my body (as opposed to most people the widest point is their hip) and therefore should be the widest part of the pant. The widest point on this pattern is much higher (near the hip) than where my widest point is located. And I had dropped it down about 4 inches(into the thigh) but I need to drop it down about 2 more inches to get it to eh right point. Is that more clear?

Chrissy, I thought you have such a good fit. You said, "I plan to drop the widest point of the legs" So that I can learn from your experience, can you describe that better and why you feel it is necessary?
