This is my first muslin using Vogue 2948. I have made a Size D without any alterations. Like all pants I buy they are snug on my front thigh but, other than that I am really impressed with this pant as it fits soooo well!
My proposed alterations are: 1. Let out the inner front thigh seam 1/2". (I left fabric here as I knew this would be a problem area). 2. Lengthen the back waist a bit as it tends to pull down when I sit. 3. Once the thighs are fitting better, I will straighten out the side seam over the tummy and hip area.

Wow, you did really well on these; the fit looks good on you. I too am taking this class and can't wait to cut. Still reviewing the video and making sure all my lines are correct b/f cutting. I am a novice sewer but keep rewinding her videos. Am so excited to get going on mine after looking at your's. Great job!
Great job and a very nice fit right out of the envelope! Would like to see the pants after you make the proposed adjustments as it might take care of everything. Thank you for posting and sharing the fitting process with us.
These look super great for a first muslin! It's wonderful to see the supportive comments. I have shied away from pants because of the same fitting problems. I feel an urge growing . . .
Forgot to mention that the book Sandra speaks of called "Fast Fit" is truly fantastic! I was lucky that my local library has a copy but, I'd highly recommend this book if you need to make any alterations! Most of it is covered in the video class, however, sometimes a book is more pracical. It also covers how to measure yourself properly and fitting issues for tops as well as pants. It has pictures rather than diagrams which is great!
Wow those fit you pretty god straight out of the packet. Some alteration to take out some of that extra fabric at the back ( I have the same issue), a little extra for the front thigh and those are good to go . I'm about to load my first attempt - I wish mine was half as good as yours !
Your muslin looks really good. On the back though I would re-watch Lesson 5 (Rear & Thigh Alterations) at approx 18:03 where Sandra takes length out under the butt. I think that is why you are getting those drag lines back there. Also possibly scoop out the back crotch to relieve that tightness right in the middle. I remember Sandra saying something about that but I can't remember where it was. Otherwise your first muslin turned out very good.
Thanks Aremoni, I went back to the lesson you referred to and I think you are right, I do need to take out length under the butt. I have now let the front inner leg seam out 1/2" at the thigh and it has relieved some of the tightness in the middle at the back. Really appreciate your thoughts!
Thanks for posting the photos. I have no waist what so ever, I have a sponge bob figure and can never get pants to fit. I am feeling more optimistic after seeing your posts!
Thanks so much for your positive comments! This is the first time I have posted any of my sewing projects, so I was very anxious. The fabrics I used were odds and ends in my stash. I never purchased enough of either, so it is nice to be able to use them for something useful afterall!
