|Here are some details about my project:|
What was your source for this piece?
Tell us a little more about your inspiration. This pony was too cute not to draw
Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. This picture was the first pet portrait I have done with my new Prismacolor Premier colour pencils. As I am teaching myself as I go a lot of the processes and techniques I used were trial and error. I drew the picture lightly, then blocked in the colours. I used a lot of layering of colours as well as burnishing.
What advice would you give someone starting this project? For someone starting a project such as this (especially if they are a novice like myself), I would just say just have a go! I know that I can be a bit of a perfectionist and the fear of failing can stop me from attempting different things, but I have to keep reminding myself that I learn as much from my failures and flops as I do from my successes. This helps to push me out of my comfort zone and also allows me to experiment with other styles and mediums. But above all have fun and enjoy yourself.
