The thread painting and background stippling

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is a very time-consuming project. There are many, many hours of sewing in this, so be prepared to spend a lot of time at your machine!

I cut flowers and leaves from several different fabrics, and made a collage of them. I placed some sequins, and then I layered tulle over the whole piece, and made my quilt sandwich. I used the machine embroidery technique know as thread painting over the flowers and leaves. I trimmed the tulle away from the background and stippled the background. When I had finished all the machine work, I did beading, candlewick knots and hand embroidery. I'm glad you like it; thank you.
