Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

Style: Casual, Classic

Materials

Yummy batiks!

What was your inspiration?

Desna's delightful little pin cushion!

What are you most proud of?

Made with a couple of weeks to spare for a friend's birthday... instead of a last minute rush!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Cut carefully without moving the pieces... I used a small mat that I was able to turn around.

Ooh Pam, now how did I miss these gorgeous little mug rugs. And my little pincushion your inspiration wow (blushing) haha! Now you are going to be my inspiration as I might just make some little mugrugs with this pattern as I have some blocks made up and didn't quite know what to do with them. And yes what would we do without crafsty... tutors and our crafsty friends xxx

Pam, these are so cute. I love them. Did you stitch the quilting on a sewing machine?

One last question because I am so intrigued, what type of thread did you use? It almost looks like Sashiko.

LOL how did we ever cope before Craftsy? I used Superior Threads Masterpiece in the top this time (only because I had the right colour in it!) and Bottom Line in the bobbin.

Your stitches look so even and smooth. And YES, Craftsy is great because I've made new friends that I never would have met and have learned so much from the instructors and other crafters. Thanks for sharing your info.

Lovely colours and super-duper quilting, Pam! MUCH too nice to stand mugs on! Should be framed and hung in a gallery!

Boy, these look really good! Now I know what to do with this charm pack that's been gathering dust - should make cute pot holders.

Thank you... yes quilted on a regular sewing machine. Actually the leaves were much easier than I expected... I can see me using this stencil heaps in the future!

Love the idea. I am using one of my quilt as I go scrap table mats. I would like a smaller one. So perhaps I could do that.......eventually
