What was your inspiration?
Ms. V saw Ron wearing his green lopapeysa, and asked if she could commission one for herself. As YOU KNOW, your friends cannot possibly pay you a decent amount for the work you put in, so I told her the knitting was a gift if she would buy the yarn.
V is originally from Canada, so she chose red and white yarns for her accent colors. The main yarn is a tweedy, speckled wool from Ireland (sorry, don't remember exactly what it was.) Overall, this sweater came out much softer to the touch than trad Icelandic wool would, but looks about the same.
What are you most proud of?
Fit is correct- I made the right changes! And she loves it.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Well, the second time you knit the same sweater will be much faster and less anxiety provoking. I think this is decent advice across the board: don't go through a major learning process just once if you have the luxury of time - amortize your effort by doing it a couple of times at least!
