What was your inspiration?
Kerry at work sent me an image from the net for something like this - I think I've seen something similar from one of the cheap US yarn companies (Maybe Lion yarns?)
She asked me to make two of these for her daughters for Christmas pictures, and I happened to have three skeins of the Kiparoo yarn stashed, left from an Ebay purchase of a large mohair lot last year.
Personally, I'm so not into any kitsch or holiday nonsense. But Kerry loved them and I got rid of two skeins of yarn I wasn't going to use for anything.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
The only reason I gave the difficulty rating a "two" is that the eyelash yarn is a pain in the youknowhwat to knit - if you slip a stitch, you'll never find it again. I had KnitPro needles with this, and even those were almost too slippery for this. Perhaps doubling over the yarn would make it a tad easier?
I actually have three skeins of the Glitter yarn leftover, one red, two blue. You can find me on Ravelry as 'neulehullu'. They're available in my stash.
