Mother's Memory Quilt

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Home

Style: Retro / Vintage, Classic, Traditional, Whimsical

Materials

Printer fabric, 1yard each of 2 fabrics, 1.5yards of the main colour plus backing and batting

What was your inspiration?

The film 'Stepmother'. I just loved the idea of a quilt full of memories. Plus it helped that there are 16 grandchildren and 9 sons/daughter-in-laws, so nice square numbers for photos for the quilt!

What are you most proud of?

Making it all work. I had a picture in my head of how it would look when finished and I managed to get really close with the finished product. This is something my mother-in-law will love and cherish.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be impatient... if the printer fabric says leave for 12 hours before peeling off the backing, leave it or it will smudge and you'll have to start again!!!

Neat looking quilt. Great use of photos instead of having lots of pictures in frames sitting around or hanging on wall! Great gift for mother-in-law too..she's sure to like it!
