What materials did you use? Red Heart Super Saver and size H crochet hook and an old or unused umbrella

What are you most proud of? This was made using a free lace pattern that i modified by using super saver yarn and size H crochet hook instead of the recomended size. Here is the link for the original pattern: http://cillesdoilies.angelfire.com/pineappledelight.htm

What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you have made doilies before, or you are familiar with Pineapple Lace, this should be a sinch for you.

Oh awesome thank you! I haven't attempted this yet, but I really want it to be a future project. I'll make sure I look closely at the umbrella frame:)

I would love this pattern, however when I pulled up this site it did not take me to the patterns but to some other site.

Hello. I checked the link, and it does in fact redirect to the pattern I used for the parasol. I used worsted weight yarn instead of lace, and a 5 or 5.5 mm hook. When it's done, attach to umbrella frame, add trim if you want, and done.

I saw this in a yarn shop. Gorgeous!! I would use it as a table top.

That would be lovely.

I was just thinking for my next comicon costume of making a parasol since I'm dressing as a female version of a villain who usually carries a cane. This would be stunning!

Did you have to add any extra rows that were not in the original pattern in order for the finished work to be large enough for the umbrella frame?
