What materials did you use? Red Heart Super Saver and size H crochet hook and an old or unused umbrella

What are you most proud of? This was made using a free lace pattern that i modified by using super saver yarn and size H crochet hook instead of the recomended size. Here is the link for the original pattern: http://cillesdoilies.angelfire.com/pineappledelight.htm

What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you have made doilies before, or you are familiar with Pineapple Lace, this should be a sinch for you.

Where is the website for the free pattern and is it in English?

Never mind the question about the pattern. I found it, but it isn't big enough for a parasol working it in thread. Only 13 1/2" in diameter. Thanks for sharing.

The pattern is lace, But I used regular red heart yarn. That made it so much bigger. Hope this helps :-)

Hi:) How did you go about connecting the finished work to the umbrella frame?

11/29/2013 Flag

Wow, its been some time since I made this. If I remember correctly, there were tiny holes from where the original umbrella material was sewn to the medal rods. If yours has those, you should be able to sew your finished work right onto it. HOPE THIS HELPS, AND GOOD LUCK

Oh awesome thank you! I haven't attempted this yet, but I really want it to be a future project. I'll make sure I look closely at the umbrella frame:)
